Exactly 2 Years Ago Today.

It was exactly two years ago today my boy Fischer entered this world…Suction cup on his head, a bit blue with the umbilical cord around his neck and covered with meconium… but alive and beautiful. He began losing weight and as the days progressed we became rather scared as to what to do. We put him on formula, and prayed and watched as Fischer seem to just lose more weight. Plain and simple we were scared.

I hit every prayer chain I knew and some I never probably would have… A good friend in Arizona set up a time that all our pastor friends across America would be in prayer with us with phone in hand, anointing Fischer with oil, and praying.

Fischer began eating almost right away… it was a new found appetite. He began to gain weight… our fear was gone and God was faithful.

Fischer is two years old today. He is my mini-me. He is beautiful and healthy.

Tomorrow induction unless....

Tomorrow TES will be induced, unless she goes into labor today... That is what she is hoping for.

There is one other thing. The availability of beds at the hospital. Since she is to be induced they of course put the mothers to be under fire in first.

Pray as we enter into D-Day!

Also, Fischer has gotten the surprise of Aunt Lavette come to visit. They both are having fun.

I seem to also be over the pnuemonia.... Thank God!

Pneumonia?

Here it is 100+ degrees and Carlos gets pneumonia. It started out with a high fever and a trip to the emergency room.

Please pray as it is possible that I am contagious. The last thing TES needs (or Fischer) is pneumonia while she is giving birth.

Also, pray I get over this before she goes into labor.

TES is 2+ cm and still perking right along.

It is hot, hot, hot, today it is hovering around 100 degrees. That means air conditioners and TES's newest addiction.... Chewing on ice.... She says it is better than ice cream.

Yep, TES is at 1 cm. Everything is going great. We have an appointment for induction on July 21st, unless Cianna decides to come sooner. We are so excited.... TES is always on the look out for cute girl outfits....

We are starting to get things pre arranged for the event. Packing, finding someone to watch
Fischer... and things like that.

We are pretty much ready.......

We still need to get a bassinette.

TES is Nesting

Clean, clean, clean, clean, clean.....
TES is nesting and in the cleaning zone.... We bought a new (used) bed for Fischer....He is not too sure about it yet. It is a race car! He still seems a little too young, but we think as Ciana is born, for a while she will be in our bedroom in a bassinet.... Then in about 6 months she gets the crib and Fischer will be in his new bed permanent.

So, we only have about 6 weeks left. TES is very excite to meet the new little one she has carried for so long. I am quite excited to meet her also.

It has been a little different than when we had Fischer. We have less stress, in some ways. Different type of stress now. We never really played music to her like we did Fischer. I guess in a way we have been more busy. We do know Ciana will know all our voices.... Especially Fischer's as she jumps and moves when she hears him.

She is a mover! It is amazing to watch TES's tummy move. TES is constantly saying, "Watch this!"

With Fischer TES would go "oh!" then giggle... With Ciana it seems like she goes "OH!"
It seems also that TES is carrying Ciana higher, as Fischer seemed to be right on her bladder and block her colon..... (hmmm maybe too personal there).

Ciana: Means God is gracious...in Italian pronounced Chee-ana
We are pronouncing it See-ana
DeMay: This is sorta mixing Delores and May which is my moms first and middle name. She is called Aunt Dede by some of the family. May is a family name that goes back a few generations.

To test or not to test.

To test or not to test.
We recently had to decide if we wanted to have some prenatal testing done. As TES is (whispering) 40 now, they are concerned about birth defects like down syndrome. We decided to go ahead with the blood test... on TES, and forgo the more invasive testing on the baby's embryonic fluid. Statistics show that 1 out of 75 have the down syndrome gene with women 40 and over... and they also show that 1 out of 200 have a miscarriage after the procedure. We decided to forgo that procedure. Since we did, the doctors wanted to know what we would do with the info on TES' blood if we did that testing. Would it affect our decision at all?
We talked it out at length and decided that should this baby be born with down syndrome it would not change our mind one bit. We could read up on it whether we had the news that it was very probable or slightly probable. Either way this child would be a gift from God to us... maybe even more special if she is born with down syndrome.I always thought down syndrome children seemed closer to God... for they seem to be born without all the bad stuff...and know love more than most of us who claim to be "normal".
We will take it a one day at a time.... whether she is born normal or with some defect.

It's a ......
It's a girl!We are excited! We admit to have been thinking "boy"...but we never thought "not a girl".
The ultrasound tech put it this way... "We have a hamburger, (think on buns) not a turtle." (Just think a little it will come to you.)
So now we are on a serious girl name search. May is a family middle name (my mom had it and her mom had it...So that is a given.)
So far this is what we have as serious contenders:
Carly
Sada (pronounced See-da) But we would pronounce it Say-da.
Calica
Rainy

Fischer Turned One Year Old!

Fischer turned one year old January 20th...
But, since we had lost touch with one of our friends
he got a very special birthday card...

This is the end of normal clothes

This is the last week TES will wear normal clothes..."Nothing fits!" as she says it.
She does have some great maternity stuff but feels it is too soon to start wearing them. But, this week she has declared is the last and the box came out and she is trying on the maternity wear.
Movement...TES says she has felt the little one move at least three times.
It is different from the first for us. We are so much more relaxed. A lot less stress in our day to day I guess.
I guess that is about it for now.

Second visit to Dr. McIntosh

We have heartbeat... nope just one. I know many of you where asking.
After a bit of chasing the little one around we finally heard it long enough to
get the bpm .... 160.
Now,
some say if the heartbeat is fast it is a girl...if it is slower it is a boy... Fischer's bpm was
averaging around 160. So at this point we believe it's a boy.
The great news is it sounded very strong.
We should be able to find out on our next visit if it is a boy or not.

By the way, feel free to comment. We are looking for names... both boys and girls.
